Pricing Information
In
general, a partially timber-framed home, such as our model, will
cost about 15% more than a high quality custom built, stick- framed
house. A fully timbered home will cost approximately 20-25% more
than a conventional custom home. Actually, 15% for a partially timbered
home is a small number considering the unique one of a kind beauty,
limitless decorating options and the hand crafted labor that goes
into the timbered joinery.
Based on the number of admirers that the North Woods Model receives
from the lake boaters, all the unique one of a kind exterior features
of the timber frame deck and kingpost set in stone columns, were
well worth the cost.
An owner/contractor that has true experience of working as a general
contractor can expect to save in the 10-15% range over a fully contracted
price. If an owner had the skills and time to devote a significant
amount of his own labor in the actual building process, they could
expect to save in the range of 20-35% of the total contracted price.
If this appeals to an owner and you have the skills and time we
would be glad to work alongside and support either of these approaches.
Allow us to discuss with you your plans to determine what best
fits your budget.
